Ayo Jagun Scholarship
for Church Music

Ayo Jagun Scholarship for Church Music is a not-for-profit organization with aims and objectives of promoting church music through musical competitions amongst churches in the Diocese of Lagos West, assisting young and talented members of the Diocese to achieve their musical aspirations through the award of scholarship into academic and vocational institutions in Nigeria to mention a few.

The Vision

To see every church choir within the Diocese of Lagos West thriving musically, and every talented church musician equipped with the tools to serve God and community with excellence.

The Mission

To promote the growth of church music through healthy competition, mentorship, and scholarships, empowering young people in the Diocese to pursue academic and vocational training in music.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Diocese of Lagos West (DLW) in conjunction with Ayo Jagun Scholarship for Church Music invites interested church choir and individual to express interest in the following:

A. INTRODUCTION

Ayo Jagun Scholarship for Church Music is a not-for-profit organization with aims and objectives of promoting church music through musical competitions amongst churches in the Diocese of Lagos West, assisting young and talented members of the Diocese to achieve their musical aspirations through the award of scholarship into academic and vocational institutions in Nigeria to mention a few.

B. 2024 PROGAMME

In line with our aims and objectives, we are pleased to announce our 15 year edition that will cover the following:

1. Choral Competition Amongst Churches

 

  • Choral Competition : We hereby call for Expression of Interest from churches which may wish to apply and register their choirs in, either STANDARD CATEGORY which is meant for up coming and promising choirs or PREMIUM CATEGORY for established choirs.
  • The application opens on Saturday, 1st March 2024 and closes on 30th June 2024.

 

2. Scholarship Award

  • Eligibility: To be eligible, the candidate must be a financially challenged member of any choir within the churches in the Diocese and must be able to play at least one musical instrument up to amateur level.
  • Interested: Interested members should obtain a formal approval from their Choirmaster or Vicar to qualify for an application from the PLANNING COMMITTEE of Ayo Jagun Scholarship for Church Music
  • Application: Application opens on 1st April 2024 and closes on 30th June 2024
